Executive Coaching

The Ermi Group coaches are all ICF certified. Managing Director, Lori Ermi is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation and has been coaching leaders and teams for over 10 years. After over 25 years in corporate roles including sales, marketing, training, organization development and HR leadership positions, she has the experience to raise the game of many leaders. Her approach to coaching is of encourager, supporter, facilitator, truth-teller, empathizer, and questioner. Ms. Ermi is a relationship-oriented professional that creates a safe environment for the client. Through confidential sessions (either face-to-face or phone) the client sets the goals and agenda, the coach uses techniques to stretch thinking and assist in creating new observations, including self-assessment instruments and 360 feedback. Through the coaching engagement (typically 10-15 sessions over a 6-9 month period) the client becomes aware of what they are currently doing/being, how they are perceived, recognize what they do well, what isn't working and makes commitments to shift behaviors and incorporate practices to increase effectiveness. Coaching is most effective when timebound and linked to business results and goals. Other outcomes are typically revealing blind spots either gently or with "tough love." It is a continuous improvement vitamin for people.

Organizations are constantly evolving entities and coaching keeps its leaders and teams growing, motivated, and in check. Communication, executive presence, and influence are target concepts. She has been inspired by and worked with leaders at all levels, including the "C" suite and Fortune 100 companies. Ms. Ermi is a mentor and developer of emerging leaders: those individuals who strive to be the executives of tomorrow, and are currently high potentials and fast-trackers. In fact, former high potential clients include the current Chief Technology Officer of a large, global consumer products company and the Chief Marketing Officer of another global consumer products corporation. Leadership coaching is an intensive commitment to stretch, grow, shift and transform. Its unique 1:1 format can be much more effective than group leadership training programs.

Team coaching is a different concept than team building. The coach partners with the leader and combines coaching with some consulting and facilitation, when necessary, to observe work-sessions and team meetings. The coach is able to provide objective feedback on dynamics, hidden strengths and weaknesses of the team and the leader for breakthrough results. As a HR professional, Ms. Ermi has expertise in dealing with difficult situations including employee/management conflict and can assist organizations in remediation coaching. The coach serves as a communication bridge and liaison between the employee, manager, HR and the overall organization to strive for win-win outcomes. An employee may be challenged with change, interpersonal dynamics, team effectiveness or giving/receiving feedback. This is very different than development coaching and requires a sensitivity to and knowledge of employee relations. This coaching engagement is typically short-term in duration.
